Abstract
The speed of technological development nor in any area advances so fast as in the field of information and communication technologies. At the same time, the ease of adoption of new services and technologies often creates new risks that are not accompanied by adequate security functions to respond to new types of threats. Such a sequence of events increases the need for supervision, monitoring, timely detection of unauthorized activities and management of new risks. Assistance in monitoring and supervising the security status of remote protected objects is provided by a new generation of devices - IoT (Internet of Things) that enable reliable detection, transmission and processing of collected data. Based on the collected data, it is possible for management in companies to make faster and better decisions at all levels. The IoT devices already presented on the market already take advantages of new technologies, which open up the possibility of protecting assets that were previously completely unprotected or difficult to access for protection, using technological solutions available at that time. Due to their practicality, reliability and extended autonomy, IoT devices are used on protected objects to increase the scope of protection, or we can connect them to existing technical protection systems, that increases the level of safety and the assets they protect. Modern communication channels used by IoT devices provide a guarantee to protected objects that data on alarm activation or any other status change will be timely transmitted to remote monitoring centers and/or property owners in order to organize intervention and reduce possible harmful consequences.
