Abstract

The paper briefly examines smart technologies that are increasingly used in households, presenting their development, key concepts, and system architecture with an emphasis on communication protocols and security mechanisms. It outlines the main categories of devices, ranging from security systems and sensors to heating, air-conditioning, and home automation solutions.

The practical part demonstrates an example how a smart system can be successfully implemented in a real home, highlighting benefits such as improved energy efficiency, safety, and convenience, and security of the presented system.
