Abstract
Crisis communication represents an integral part of crisis management, with the aim of timely, accurate, and transparent informing of the public, as well as the preservation of institutional trust. In contemporary security circumstances, characterized by a rapid flow of information and the strong influence of digital media, effective communication becomes equally important as the operational response to a crisis event. The crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle in Zagreb represents a paradigmatic example of a complex crisis situation in which security, political, and communication aspects intertwine.
The aim of the paper is to analyze the role and effectiveness of crisis communication in the context of the aforementioned event, with particular emphasis on the institutional response, the dynamics of informing the public, and the challenges arising from the contemporary media environment. The paper seeks to identify key communication shortcomings and advantages in managing information during the crisis, as well as to determine to what extent the applied strategies contributed to the preservation of public trust.
